Gibson Les Paul Studio
Make: Gibson
Model: Les Paul Studio
MSRP: $1,799
The Studio Les Paul holds true to what you would expect from a LP Thick, heavy, meaningful tones, reasonable sustain, but, has the versatility to give you twang when you need it and subtleties when appropriate – what you may not experience in the same way on a standard LP.
Right out of the box, this model, once tuned, will hold it’s tune very nicely (depending on your selection of string and playing intensity – statement based on average quality strings, regular usage and moderate intensity). Even after a few bluesy plays with lots of bends and vibrato, the guitar will just need a few minor adjustments but nothing significant that if you could not re-tune it would still ‘give justice’ to your music.
It also has a comfortable neck that fits your hand like a glove and even the hard to reach combos and notes seem to be reached with ease.
If you are a guitarists that likes to play with a whammy bar then you could consider that a con… but it’s not really. If you are buying an LP you are usually willingly accepting the fact that LPs don’t have whammys… since it’s never was and is not a standard LP feature.
You will not find in the Studio LP the same sought after sustain as a standard LP. Even-though the Studio LP has a thick and hearty tone, again, you will not find what you would expect in a standard LP. It’s not quite as “in your face” but at a fraction of the cost the Studio LP is a great bang for your buck.
The LP Studio looks and sounds great. It’s no wonder so many musicians choose this Guitar. Whether you are a novice or a beginner this is a good axe to have in your bag.
