What blue the funk out of music??? Thick base lines, great guitar solos and beautiful rhythm that’s what.
Funk music a cup of blues, and a pinch of jazz, is the signature taste of this New Orleans band. This is the type of band you want to hear on a Saturday night as you’re sipping drinks, hanging out on the waters edge. Although that wasn’t the case, you felt there. Everyone was enjoying themselves dancing to the funky and bluesy sounds from this 3 piece band. PBS was enjoying themselves as the ‘Fort Lauderdale freaks’ crowd was absently absorbed in the feel good rhythm -some of which could be described as stoned and hammered out of their minds. Nonetheless it makes for a great spectacle for the audience… and the band.
Musically this band is good. They balance well their instruments. They also give off the “pleasure vibe” versus the “I’m at work” which is great from a spectators perspective, and undoubtedly also affect the mood and quality of the show.
I would love to see them on their turf, with their crowd and local following, because I am certain it’s a show for the books… I hope to be there someday for that.
